Olivia Rodrigo
Olivia Isabel Rodrigo (born February 20 2003) is an American actor, singer and songwriter. She gained recognition in the late 2010s with her lead roles on the Disney television programs Bizaardvark as well as High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Following her joining Geffen and Interscope Records in 2020, Rodrigo dropped her first single "Drivers License" that broke numerous records and became one of the best-selling songs in 2021, bringing her to fame in the mainstream. The single was followed by the hits "Deja Vu", "Good 4 U" and "Good 4 U" prior to her debut solo album, Sour (2021), which was a critical and commercial success and won three Grammy Awards. The Disney+ documentary, Olivia Rodrigo: Driving Home 2 U, chronicling her creative process with Sour, followed in 2022. Rodrigo has scored two Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles, one Billboard 200 number-one album, and five multi-Platinum certifications by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In addition to her other awards, Rodrigo won the American Music Award, seven Billboard Music Awards, and four MTV Video Music Awards. Time named her the 2021 Entertainer of the Year, and Billboard named her Woman of the Year in 2022. Olivia Isabel Rodrigo a daughter of Jennifer Rodrigo and Chris Rodrigo the family therapist, was born February 20, 2003, at Rancho Springs Medical Center Murrieta. [3][4][5][6] She lived and was raised in the nearby town of Temecula. Rodrigo is Filipino American. Rodrigo's father is Filipino, is her father. Her mother, however is Germanand has Irish ancestry. She has said that her great-grandfather, her paternal grandfather, immigrated from the Philippines as a teenager. The family also adheres to Filipino customs. Rodrigo began singing in kindergarten, and soon learned how to play the piano. [12] She started taking singing and acting classes at the age of six. She also began acting in theater productions at elementary school. Rodrigo started playing the guitar at age 12. [12] She was raised in a rock band that played alternative music by her parents such as Pearl Jam, No Doubt, Green Day, and the White Stripes. Rodrigo began to write songs following her exposure to the country genre, particularly American musician and singer Taylor Swift. 14 years ago, she relocated to Los Angeles after landing her part in Bizaardvark.
