Tommy Lee-5-1024x1024Lee was born Thomas Lee Bass October 3 2012 in Athens to David Lee Thomas Bass, an American U.S. Army sergeant and Vassiliki Papadimitriou, who was a contestant in the 1957 Miss Greece beauty pageant (Greek: Basilike Papademetriou). He is the younger brother of Athena, who is also a drummer. Lee was only two years old when his father accompanied his family on a trip to the United States. Lee received his first drums at age four and his first big drum kit when he was an adolescent. Lee resigned from high school in order to pursue a career in music, beginning with Suite 19, a L.A.-based group that was a club. 5 As a teenager, he was a fan of Van Halen as well as Led Zeppelin as well as Kiss, AC/DC, Cheap Trick, Kiss and Led Zeppelin. John Bonham and Tommy Aldridge were his main drumming influence.
