Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born into a mixed ethnic family. Her father is Nigerian Swiss and her mother is English. She was a student at The Brit School when she was 14. She pursued acting studies in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. She was on stage in many productions while attending school including the King Henry V, as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe started her acting career by starring in a movie titled Storm Damage. Since then, she has made guest appearances for Teachers, Doctors, Casualty as well as Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her debut film as a performer is that of the Woody Allen 2007 movie Cassandra's Dream. She starred opposite Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. After that, she played Elisha in the single-episode BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN which aired in 2007 and she also appeared in six episodes of Trexx and Flipside as Ollie. She also had the opportunity to play the role as Bambi in The ITV2 drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl which aired in series two and three. Madekwe was a part of the comedic How to Lose Friends and alienate others (2008). Some of her theatre credits include Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) as well as Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe made her official US debut on the drama series The Beautiful Life, which only aired two episodes for The CW before being cancelled. Ashley Leggat is a Gemini-nominated actress who was raised in a big family. Her parents were Roy and Patty Leggat. Her parents Roy and Patty along with the four brothers of her, Brett, Todd, and Bram and Bram, were present. Ashley's brothers, who were who were all extremely active, took part in hockey in the winter months and played baseball in the summer months, which means they grew up mostly in arenas and baseball parks. Ashley couldn't walk, however she was able to dance. In the end, at the age of 2 when she was two, she began to learn about Baby Ballet. That was the start of Ashley's passion for dance. Ashley competed in ballet, jazz and tap at the top divisions. Ashley was awarded the best soloist awards at all of the main dance contests, including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance to name a few.
